CASON OBITUARIES

Edward N. Cason KNOTTS ISLAND Friday, Nov. 24, 2006 The Virginian-Pilot. Edward Noble Cason, 83, died Nov. 21, 2006, at his residence. Mr. Cason was born in Virginia Beach to the late Wilbur and Aleen Grimstead Cason. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Coast Guard for more than 20 years, was a member of the Knotts Island United Methodist Church, the Coinjock DAV and the Coinjock Masonic Lodge. Mr. Cason was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved being on the water. He was predeceased by his wife, Ida Jean White Cason; brothers, Robert Cason and Kenneth Cason; and sisters, Elmyra O'Neal and Joyce Daughtry. Left to cherish his memory are daughters, Phyllis Mae Shrayer and husband Bill of Boston, Mass., and Jane Gail Ledyard and husband Paul of Portsmouth; sons, Edward Dwayne Cason and wife Elizabeth of Chesapeake and Michael Dean Cason and wife JoAnne of Knotts Island; brother, Wilbur W, Cason Jr. and wife Jeanette W. Cason; 11 grandchildren and seven greatgrandchiIdren. The family will receive friends at Knots Island United Methodist Church Saturday from 10 to 11 am. The funeral will immediately follow at the church with Pastor Robert Green and Pastor Frank Jennings officiating. Burial with military honors and Masonic rites will be held at Knotts Island Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Knotts Island UMC or to the American Cancer Society.
