From Carole Garrett Strawhand - MOYOCK SCHOOL YEARBOOK - THE ECHO - 1957
This is the first year that Knotts Island students attended Moyock. Students from eighth grade thru Senior year were bussed from Knotts Island. Carole started in the eighth grade. When a Junior she bought her Class Ring and got ready to graduate from Moyock the following year. Only problem was they closed Moyock as a high school and she was moved to J. P. Knapp for her Senior year. See ISLAND BUS WAYWARD for an article on the daily trip. The Currituck High School mentioned was actually J.P. Knapp High School.

Freshman Class - Knotts Island Students - Sondra Ansell, Clyde Bonney, Sandra Capps, Stanley Dixon, Larry Etheridge, Ann Fentress, Sue Fentress, Teddy Flannigan, Paul Irving, Joe Lewark, Steve Oetinger, Burleigh Wade.
