August 8, 2013. From Jane Brumley.
They are my paternal grand-parents. I certainly remember both of them as they lived next door. The veggie garden that was enclosed with wire to keep out the rabbits. The water well where my grandmother put not only yaupon tea but regular tea to cool because we did not have electric; just large "cakes" of ice in the "icebox" that was kept outside wrapped in newspaper. I have one now in my dining room.
My father was James Nonie Miller. Son of Mary Pat Bowden and John Levy Miller. John Levy Miller was the son of Solomon B. Miller (1857-1919), husband of Elnora Ansell and son of Solomon Miller who is buried in Bunkers Hill on Martins Farm. Elnora Etta was the daughter of Malachi Ansell & Elizabeth (?). My mother was Ruth Waterfield Miller.
Because my father & mother went to different KI Churches (mother: KI Methodist & father KI Baptist) I was subjected to having to attend both on Sunday! Baptist in the am & Methodist in the pm.
