1951 Mr Freeman  and his wife lived in the teacherage and both taught in the 40's

Earnest Allen Smith. He was the 6th & 7th grade teacher in the early 1960's His wife Mary was the 1st & 2nd grade teacher. I wish I had a picture of her too. They were great teachers and wonderful people. They lived in the teacherage. I spent a lot of time over there after school and in summer. Mr. Smith tried his hand at raising mink one summer, which I thought was facinating. They were so cute, but he didn't make much money that way. I was also friends with his grandsons, Jesse and Terry, and I would spend a lot of time with them in the summer. We did not have a playground with a slide and I remember one summer Jesse and I came up with our own slide. At the time the school used coal for heat. In the summer time it was pretty empty so we started sliding down the coal chute. It may have been empty, but it was anything but CLEAN! I guess you know we both caught the dickens for that.
