TULLY L CAPPS Born March 4, 1814 Died February 14, 1882.

Received of T. L. Capps $2.97 of which $1.50 is the tax to the state and $1.50 is the tax to the County for his store and liquor tax from April 1 to October 1, 1872 (somebody couldn't add)



This deed appears to indicate the name of Tully L.'s father and grandfather and an Uncle.

On April 26, 1856, Tully L. Capps purchased about 60 acres from James Spratt of Princess Anne County for $500.00. The land abutted Zachariah Waterfield, Benjamin Waterfield, Andrew J. Ansell, Jesse Waterfield, Samuel Waterfield, William Smith and the waterway.

On February 4, 1868, Tully L. Capps purchased about 35 acres from Levi and Elizabeth Ansell for $700. The land abutted Wilson Cooper Sr and Jr, Caleb Ansell, H. D. Bell and Tully L. Capps property.

On July 28, 1870, Tully L. Capps purchased about 20 acres from the Estate of Nathaniel W. Dudley for $500. Elizabeth A. Williams was heir and Executrix. This is the same tract that by virtue of a certain deed of trust made by Samuel H. Beasley to Nathaniel W. Dudley on January 31, 1863 to secure the payment of a debt of $1200 which was not repaid. The land abutted Samual J. Ansell, Tully L. Capps, Edmond Litchfield, Malachi Waterfield, Johnson Waterfield, Caleb Ansell, William T. J. White and Thomas Bowden. Interesting to note, the property was not recorded until March 5, 1883. About a year after Tully L.'s death.

On April 7, 1871, Tully L. Capps purchased about 125 acres from the Estate of John B. Jones for $2,000. Excluded was the 50 square foot graveyard belonging to the heirs of John B. Jones. The land abutted Ferdinand Bonney, Tully L. Capps, Wilson Cooper, E. A. Beasley and Malachi Waterfield property and on the East by the Bay. The property was also not recorded until March 5, 1883.
