Ansell was married to Lydia Simmons born May 28, 1843 died Nov.8, 1923 married Oct.19, 1859 in Currituck, Henry was School Teacher in 1860, in Coinjock. They had eight children. Charles E. born Aug. 1862, Ola born March 9, 1866, Florence born April 2, 1869, Martha Etta born May 1872, Samuel Tilden born Jan 1, 1875 died May 27, 1954, buried US Military Academy Cemetery West Point, NY, Mary E. born Aug. 1878, Lucy E. born Jan.1883, Lydia S. Jan.1886

Melinda Lukei Comment: Lydia Simmons was the daughter of John Simmons and Kassy Taylor. Henry Beasley Ansell's brother Jerome Ansell was born 1850 d 12 Sept 1880 and married "Bethany " Elizabeth N. Cooper b 17 April 1832 and died 20 June 1888 daughter of Wilson Cooper and Marian.

Elizabeth City Independent. Friday - March 26, 1920; pg. 16 HENRY B. ANSELL DEAD - Currituck County lost one of its oldest and best known citizens last week in the death of Henry B. ANSELL, age 88 years, at his home at Barco. His death followed an attack of influenza. Mr. ANSELL was a native of Currituck County, born on Knotts Island, and had lived in Currituck all his life. In his earlier days he was a prominent, influential and active figure in the county's affairs and served as Clerk of Superior Court on his county for several years. He is survived by his wife and several children including the distinguished Lt. Colonel Samuel T. ANSELL of Washington, D.C.
