Church Histories
Knotts Island United Methodist Church

There has been a Methodist Church on Knotts Island since 1811. The current building was completed in 1911. The architectural plans were drawn by islanders Len Smith and Ed Waterfield. All construction was done by island residents. It is an amazing design and structure, from the vaulted ceiling to the Victorian stained glass windows. It serves not only as a place of worship, but a reminder and tribute to the artisans of gifted men and women of our past.

Knotts Island Baptist Church
